Let's Reduce Waste: Bring Your Reusable Cup for Trail Run

by XTERRA Taiwan on 03/19/2021

Leave nothing but footprints. Take nothing but fond memories of the mountains.
For the 2021 XTERRA Taiwan Off-Road Festival, we invite every athlete to join us and be a force of sustainability.

No disposable paper cups will be provided at aid stations on the trail run course. All athletes will receive an XTERRA reusable soft cup in their race bags. By bringing your own reusable cups, we can reduce waste, a huge amount!
We can be more than consumers and advocate for more sustainable ways of participating in a sports event.

XTERRA Foundation 》

Established in 2004, the XTERRA Foundation is the philanthropic arm of XTERRA. The non-profit organization supports the responsible use and protection of our natural environment and those who champion the active, outdoors lifestyle.

From January through July 14, 2020 the XTERRA Foundation donated funds to the National Forest Foundation, the nonprofit partner of the U.S. Forest Service whose mission is to promote the health and public enjoyment of the 193-million-acre National Forest System. Beginning July 15, 2020, the XTERRA Foundation will support the XTERRA Virtual Race Series, and designated non-profits that are important to XTERRA and its global, regional championships.

The Virtual Series kicked off with a 30-day global challenge, Rally Around XTERRA Planet, and supported GlobalGiving's Corona Virus Relief Fund. The Fund assists communities around the world in their efforts to stop the COVID-19 pandemic.

This was followed with the XTERRA Jade Mountain Duathlon in support of the Taiwan Thousand Miles Trail Association (TMI Trail), which is on a mission to build a round-the-island thousand-mile trail network.

In September, the XTERRA Olympic Canyon Virtual Duathlon supported the Trail Foundation of Northern Utah, which serves to plan, promote, construct, and protect a network of public pathways, trails, and related open spaces for non-motorized users throughout the area surrounding Ogden and Snowbasin, Utah.

XTERRA No Kao Oi Virtual Duathlon and Trail Runs celebrated the aloha spirit in November and supported the Surfrider Foundation's Maui Chapter in their efforts to the protect the enjoyment of the world’s oceans, waves and beaches for all people, through conservation, activism, research and education.

December 3-7, 2020 the XTERRA Wild Forest Virtual Duathlon and Trail Runs will support NABU (Nature And Biodiversity Conservation Union).  NABU is one of the oldest and largest environment associations in Germany who are dedicated to the conservation of threatened habitats, flora and fauna, to climate protection and energy policy.
